a. Uma Kapila- policies and performance or Mishra and Puri- These books extend the information not only the Indian economy history after independence. This will not only in phase 2 but in the Interview also. Follow timeline method in preparation of everything such as divide the history in different time periods stating 1947-1970, 1971-1991 and last 1991- to till date. This will make the things easy to remember and will be grasped easily.
b. Macroeconomics- Macroeconomics part can be concealed well from 12th standard NCERT books and Ramesh Singh. To understand policy and changes in policy by RBI one needs to cover basics of the subject properly.
c. NCERT on Indian Economy- before reading Uma Kapila read NCERT books from 10th standard to 12th standard which will help in clearing the basics of Indian economic history.
d. Yojana and Kurukshetra- This magazine cover all most all schemes and policies in detail of the Government of India. Just understand about all schemes and policies, facts related to schemes and current affairs.
e. RBI Website- The website is useful for both Finance and ESI. Use speeches, notifications and circulars as study material for exam.
f. Newspaper- Read newspapers (The Hindu, Economic Times, The Indian Express, etc.,) on regular basis.
2. Finance and Management (FM) is descriptive and various numerical based questions are also asked in this paper. This part can be best prepared with the help of the followings:
a. Bharati V Pathak or My Khan - Indian financial system
b. R. P. Rustagi, Prasanna Chandra or Pandey- for financial management
c. T. S. Grewal- accounting ratios
d. S. P. Robbins, T. N. Chhabra, Gupta- any of these one sufficient for knowledge of organizational behavior and theory.
e. Aswathappa, T. N. Chhabra, Gupta- Human Resource Management
f. RBI Website- The website is useful for both Finance and ESI. Use speeches, notifications, and circulars as study material for exam
g. Prassana Chandra- For numerical portion study properly and clear the concepts by reading Financial management which will help to understand better as this book covers all important numerical topics such as Financial ration, bond pricing, basic accounting, cash flow statement, etc.
3. English- For this one needs to give time and practice. Give mock tests and solve the previous year's question papers and develop writing skills as this paper is a descriptive one. Read editorial part from a newspaper. This will improve the vocabulary and will also help in writing comprehensions as newspaper reading will develop the word better placing ability.
Besides all the above after completing the syllabus in three (3) months start taking tests that are available on various websites. Giving a mock test will improve the better understanding of the exam pattern which will be followed in the exam. This will also improve time management skills. Analysis of the mistakes done during the mock tests and correct those which will help in improving the preparation level. Take the help of various apps, videos, websites, etc. to increase the understanding in a particularly problematic part of the subject. If the candidate is from other then commerce background takes the help of friends who are of commerce background to better understand the basic concepts as RBI working is related commerce.
