What is the level of management questions in RBI Grade B





There are three phases or stages of the RBI Grade B Officer Exam.
1. Prelims or Phase I- Questions asked are MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions). Question Paper is divided into four sections as such reasoning carrying 60 marks, general awareness with 80 marks, third and fourth sections carrying 30 marks each in Language and Quantitative Aptitude, respectively. A total of 200-marks test and time gave is 2 hours to complete.
2. Phase II or Mains- This section is a descriptive one and has three papers carrying a hundred marks and 90 minutes to solve each paper. The papers include: ESI (Economic and Social Issues), English and FM (Finance and Management)
3. Interview: Candidates are selected after clearing the previous two phases of the exam successfully and are invited for personal interviews or face-to-face interviews.

Management is the process of getting things done with the proper use of resources and manpower. It helps in controlling, organizing and coordinating the function of an organization. The prosperity and progress of any business organization are based on a well-planned management strategy. Management is the brain, without which no organization can do anything in business. Candidates should have knowledge of Management i.e. meaning, definition, characteristics, functions, levels of management, the difference in between management and administration, etc. Candidates other then Commerce background should clear the basic concept of management as this is the basic character of the job profile of Grade B Officers. Questions asked in the second phase are of moderate level not much hard and not very easy. Generally, questions are based on concepts and skills on how to manage a situation. This section is generally divided in the following Parts:

• Static (Means- Hardcore book Concepts)
• Dynamic (Based on Current Economic and Financial News)
• Finance Concepts
• Finance Numerical
• Management Concepts

For 2-marks questions perspective or background is set with the help of small passages and then questions are asked related to the set perspective. The passage is only a perspective, so don’t think that answers are hidden in the passage. Questions based on Passage are mostly related to Current economic and finance News. Large or essay type passage- These passages deal with information related to rural areas. These areas are a cluster of settlements, which are related to each other and are classified as Rurban or rural-urban areas, and they illustrate the scope for growth and development by facilities of social, economic and physical infrastructure as they have economic drivers and are aimed for developing by provisioning economics concepts.

Candidate must follow these books or study material for the preparation of management part before the Exams:
• Public Administration from courses of IGNOU
a. Chapters 20 to 38 of EPA 01
b. Chapters 4 to 10 of MPA 014 do selective studies in these chapters.
c. BA Economics (do selective studies)
d. Public Administration of EPA 05
• Indian Economy by Ramesh Singh (Latest edition)
• Newspaper reading (The Economics Times, Indian Express or Hindu)
• NCERT class 11, 12 Economy textbook
• NIOS Economy course
• BA finance administration

There are many YouTube channels, websites and apps for up to date current news of Finance and Management, practice previous years or exams papers and manage the time for better control/hold over the subject.
